RULES
The competition, appreciated in the musical environment and reported on many specialized sites and in music magazines, today represents an important cultural reality in the territory and has always stood out for its transparency, attention to every organizational detail, but also for the high artistic level of the participants. This international competition for musicians from all over the world aims to promote music among young people, to identify and promote the artistic success of emerging talents and to promote the territory that hosts the competition, both for tourism and through an artistic, social and cultural exchange .
One of its aims is to contribute to spreading and developing an ever greater interest in classical music that plays an important formative role in civil society.
This year the Amigdala International Music Competition is a member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation, a worldwide organization which includes the most important international music competitions. The AAF is responsible for promoting its members through information channels directed towards the most important musical institutions worldwide.
The competition has taken on a great international dimension over the years and was, therefore, chosen by Music Institutions based in Hong Kong, Bulgaria and Tokyo as the final stage, "unique in Italy", of selections made in their cities through the following competitions :

Amigdala International Music Competition Hong Kong Region, March 2019 in Hong Kong
Amigdala Vivapiano Bulgaria Competition, April 2019 in Sofia in collaboration with "Ardenza Foundation"
Candidates residing in these countries, who have passed the selection by winning the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, will participate in our competition which will take place from 4 to 12 May 2019
Amigdala International Music Competition is part of the "Accredited Festivals" at ELENA COBB STAR PRIZE. The winners of the categories of section 13 will have the opportunity to perform at the FESTIVAL ELENA COBB STAR PRIZE at the ROYAL ALBERT HALL in LONDON, in April 2020.
At the end of the section 13, winners will receive:
- ECSP certificate
- € 50 cash prize

The Competition is open to all musicians from all nationalities.

Sect. 13 (selection of pianists up to 15 years for the Elena Cobb Star Prize 2020 Festival)

Groups with more than 30 musicians will pay € 300,00( to be paid in a single solution)
Section 8 is divided into the following categories:
Cat. A: composition for solo instrument lasting max 10 min. Fee € 75.00
Cat. B: composition for chamber music lasting max 10 min. Fee € 75.00
Cat.C : composition for orchestra lasting max 10 min. Fee € 75.00
The compositions, in PDF format or in hard copy, must be sent to the secretariat of the competition by April 20th, 2019
Section 10 is divided into the following categories:
Cat. A: Children voices free program max 10 min. Fee € 50.00
Cat. B: born from 01/01/1993 ; free program max 15min. - Fee € 70.00
Cat. C: no age limit : free program max 20 min. - Fee € 75.00

For all categories of Section 10 jury may choose part of the program.

Competitors in sections 2, 3, 9, 10 will provide for their own accompanist, if required. If you are unable to find an accompanist we may provide one to you, but we need to know about this in advance. Please indicate this on the registration form, attach a copy of the piano score and pay the following additional fee:

If you want to enjoy a digital piano exclusively at your accommodation, you will have to apply for it at the time of your registration and pay a fee of EUR 20 per day at your desk.
The registration fee will be refunded only in case of cancellation of the competition
Art. 4
REGISTRATION Amigdala International Competition "G. Raciti" award
Art. 5
On their arrival, the competitors must show their Identity Card to the secretary and , before their performance, deliver a copy of their scores to the Committee.
Art. 6
All competitors may participate in more sections and categories by paying the relative participation fee.
Art. 7
The pieces to be performed must be original (no easier arrangement are allowed). The competitor can play for fewer minutes than those required. The performance could be stopped by the Committee if the competitor exceeds the required time.
Art. 8
The jury is made up of teachers from Conservatories and Music Schools, well-known musicians, differently qualified, the Chairwoman of the Cultural Association "Amigdala" and the Artistic Director of the AmigdalaMusicTalent Section.
The members of the jury shall abstain from voting in case of kinship and/or having didactic relationship with the competitor either currently or taken place in the two year prior to the competition.
In relation to the above, on the occasion of their settlement, each member of the jury issues a statement on his/her personal situation in relation to the competitors.
The score will be expressed at the end of each Category. Each judge will evaluate the competitors and will assign a score in cents.
The scores from all judges will then be averaged to determine the final score. Please note that the decision of the judges is unquestionable.
In case of ex aequo in a category , the jury may share the prize equally.
All awards and prizes will be awarded unless there is an insufficient number of eligible participants in a particular category or the judges determine that the quality of the competitor's performance does not warrant a prize/award.
Prizes and awards are non transferable.
Cash awards are paid in euros, currency conversions to local currency are at winner's expense at the time of conversion.
All federal, state, provincial, autonomous, local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. The jury has the right to listen to the executions of the competitors again.
The jury will draw up the program of the final evening taking into consideration the length of the chosen pieces and will include only part of the finalists.
The "Awards Committee", composed by the Chairwoman of the Association and the Artistic Director, decides the assignment of special Awards at the conclusion of the work and possibly after the Gala Concert.

The competitors will be presented in alphabetical order according to a schedule that will be displayed on April 27th 2019 in this site
The competition organization reserves the possibility to make small changes to the final timetable.Candidates who are already enrolled, whenever they change their calendar, will be notified via e-mail.
Art. 10
By
submitting an entry form, each entrant, parent, or legal guardian (if such
entrant is a minor) authorizes the use of the competitor's name ,photo, audio
and/or video recording for the publicity and advertisement purposes related to
the competition by Amigdala International Music Competition.
If you do not want to authorize this you must make an explicit request on the
registration form. The competitors cannot demand any financial claims on
Amigdala Cultural Association or on any broadcasting company.
Art. 11
We consider Absolute First those who will obtain the average 100/100
We consider First classified those who will obtain an average score from 95 to 99
We consider Second classified those who will obtain an average score from 90 to 94
We consider Third classified those who will obtain an average score from 85 to 89
We consider Fourth classified those who will obtain an average score from 80 to 84
All participants will receive a Certificate
All awarded participants awarded 100/100 will receive a diploma and a cup and a scolarship
The Final Gala
will be held at L. SCIASCIA THEATRE
on Sunday, May 12th, 2019 at 5.00 p.m.
All the absolute first winners must be present at the Awarding Ceremony.
The winners chosen to perform their pieces are obliged to perform under penalty of annulment of the award. The same cannot demand any financial claims for their execution and for any possible " Award Concerts".
In the respect of the Music and of the Committee, the candidates are invited to wear appropriate clothing at the Final Gala
Competitors , during their stay, will have pianos to practice.
By entering this competition each entrant, parent or legal guardian (if such entrant is a minor) agrees to accept these rules and be bound by the decisions of Amygdala International Music Competition, its judges and staff, which are final and binding in all matters.
Art. 12
This cultural event is not comparable to the sweepstakes, as intended by D.P.R.430/2001, art.6 com.1. Therefore, the Resolution n.8/1251 of the 28th October 1976 decides that the prizes will not be income taxed at the source.However,we specify that the final prizes will be added to Your personal income and the winners will have to pay own compulsory contributions on the basis of Your income tax return.
