RULES
This international competition for musicians is non-profit and aims to promote music among young people, as well as discover and affirm emerging talents in the artistic field.
Its goal is to contribute to the spread and development of a growing interest in classical music, which plays a fundamental role in the cultural and social formation of the community.
Article 1
The Competition is open to all musicians of all nationalities.
Article 2
The Competition is divided into the following sections:
Section 1: Piano (Solo - Piano and Orchestra)
Section 2: Strings
Section 3: Winds
Section 4: Guitar, Mandolin, Tamburitza, and all plucked string instruments
Section 5: Accordion
Section 6: Chamber Music (max 10 members) and Piano Duet
Section 7: Harp
Section 8: Lyric Singers
Section 9: Composition (Read the LIVE competition RULES)
Section 10: Choirs
Section 11: Folk - Pop - Jazz (soloists, mixed groups)
Article 3
CATEGORIES AND ENTRY FEES
Competitors must adhere to the time limits specified for each category.
SOLOIST VIDEOS WITH A RECORDED ACCOMPANIMENT TRACK ARE ACCEPTED.
(Entry fees and age categories follow the same structure as in the original Italian document.)
Section 1 - is divided into the following categories:
- Little Stars Category: born on or after 01/01/2020 – Free-choice programme, maximum 5 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category A: born on or after 01/01/2016 – Free-choice programme, maximum 8 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category B: born on or after 01/01/2013 – Free-choice programme, maximum 10 minutes – Entry fee: €45.00
- Category C: born on or after 01/01/2010 – Free-choice programme, maximum 13 minutes – Entry fee: €50.00
- Category D: born on or after 01/01/2007 – Free-choice programme, maximum 15 minutes – Entry fee: €55.00
- Category E: born on or after 01/01/2004 – Free-choice programme, maximum 23 minutes – Entry fee: €60.00
- Category F: no age limit – Free-choice programme, maximum 30 minutes – Entry fee: €65.00
Sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 - The above sections are divided into the following categories:
- Little Stars Category: born on or after 01/01/2020 – Free-choice programme, maximum 5 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category A: born on or after 01/01/2016 – Free-choice programme, maximum 8 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category B: born on or after 01/01/2013 – Free-choice programme, maximum 10 minutes – Entry fee: €45.00
- Category C: born on or after 01/01/2010 – Free-choice programme, maximum 13 minutes – Entry fee: €50.00
- Category D: born on or after 01/01/2007 – Free-choice programme, maximum 15 minutes – Entry fee: €55.00
- Category E: born on or after 01/01/2004 – Free-choice programme, maximum 23 minutes – Entry fee: €60.00
- Category F: no age limit – Free-choice programme, maximum 30 minutes – Entry fee: €65.00
Section 6 – is divided into the following categories (based on the average age of the group members):
- Category G1: average age corresponding to participants born on or after 01/01/2012 – Free-choice programme, maximum 8 minutes – Entry fee: €35.00 per member
- Category G2: average age corresponding to participants born on or after 01/01/2000 – Free-choice programme, maximum 12 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00 per member
- Category G3: no age limit – Free-choice programme, maximum 20 minutes – Entry fee: €45.00 per member
Ensembles consisting of more than five members shall pay an entry fee of €25.00 per member.
The entry fee for each ensemble must be paid in a single transaction.
Ensembles entered in the Chamber Music category may request the presence of an accompanying pianist solely for the performance of piano reductions of orchestral parts.
Such pianist shall not be considered a member of the ensemble for participation or evaluation purposes.
Section 8 – is divided into the following categories:
- Category A – Junior Voices (Children's Voices): Free-choice programme, maximum 8 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category B: born on or after 01/01/1999 – Free-choice programme, maximum 10 minutes – Entry fee: €55.00
- Category C: no age limit – Free-choice programme, maximum 15 minutes – Entry fee: €65.00
Section 9 – Composition

Participants in this section will be evaluated within the framework of the XVI Amigdala International Music Competition – LIVE Edition, which will take place from 4 to 9 May 2027.
Section 10 - is divided into the following categories:
Category G1 – Children's Choirs
This category includes choirs composed exclusively of children's voices (up to approximately 12 years of age).
Free-choice programme, maximum 15 minutes – Ensemble entry fee: €10 per member up to a maximum of 8 participants; from the 9th member onwards, €8 per additional participant.
Category G2 – Youth Choirs
This category includes choirs composed of young singers aged between 12 and 18 years.
Free-choice programme, maximum 20 minutes – Ensemble entry fee: €12 per member up to a maximum of 8 participants; from the 9th member onwards, €10 per additional participant.
Category G3 – Adult and Mixed Choirs
This category includes choirs composed of adult singers and/or mixed ensembles.
Free-choice programme, maximum 20 minutes – Ensemble entry fee: €15 per member up to a maximum of 8 participants; from the 9th member onwards, €10 per additional participant.
Section 11 - is divided into the following categories:
- Category A (Soloists): born on or after 01/01/2013 – Free-choice programme, maximum 10 minutes – Entry fee: €40.00
- Category B (Soloists): no age limit – Free-choice programme, maximum 15 minutes – Entry fee: €50.00
- Category G1 (Ensembles): Free-choice programme, maximum 20 minutes – Ensemble entry fee: €15 per member up to a maximum of 8 participants; from the 9th member onwards, €10 per additional participant.
Participation in the event requires the payment of an entry fee. This fee is solely intended to cover the organizational costs of the competition, necessary for the realization of the event. The entry fee is not a payment for a service and does not imply an obligation of reimbursement, nor does it confer any rights to the participants other than the right to take part in the event.
Article 4
REGISTRATION
This edition will take place online; therefore, for registration and video recording of the audition, the following guidelines must be followed:
Enter, in the designated field of the registration form, the link to a single video of the performance, uploaded on YouTube and set as 'Unlisted', which includes all the pieces presented in the competition.
If multiple links are submitted, the jury reserves the right to review only one of them at its discretion.
Videos slightly exceeding the assigned time are tolerated.Grand pianos and upright pianos are recommended. Digital pianos with 88 weighted keys are also accepted.
Audio-only recordings are not accepted.
Video recordings of singers must be framed from the waist up. Full-body shots are recommended.
The video must be recorded with a fixed camera (camcorder, smartphone, tablet, or professional recording equipment) and must show, at all times, the performer's face, hands, and the entire instrument.
Any cuts within the same piece are prohibited, while cuts between pieces are allowed as long as they are made in the same context.
The video does not need to be of professional quality, provided that both the image and audio are clear.
The recording must be clear and free from background noise, with no restrictions on location.
If the videos do not comply with these methods, the commission reserves the right to accept or exclude part of the video itself.
Article 5
Participation and General Rules
All participants may take part in multiple sections and categories, provided that the relevant participation fee is paid for each entry.
Furthermore, by paying the applicable registration fee, participants may also take part in the LIVE Competition, which will be held from 4 to 9 May 2027 at the "L. Sciascia" Theatre in Aci Bonaccorsi (Italy).
The pieces to be performed must be original works; simplified arrangements are not permitted.
Timeline and Results
On 24 March 2027, the links to the competition performance videos will be published on the official website:

On 8 April 2027, the results of each category and the corresponding scores will be published on the official website:
www.amigdalainternationalcompetition.it
Diplomas will be available for download on the official Competition website within 15 days after the publication of the results.
Winners awarded a score of 100/100 will be included in the Competition's Roll of Honour (Hall of Fame).
Article 6
The jury, with an international profile, is composed of professors from conservatories and music institutions, renowned musicians from various fields of the music world, as well as the President of the liberaAmigdala Cultural Association and the Artistic Director of the competition.
Members of the jury must refrain from voting in case of family ties and/or ongoing or past teaching relationships within the two years preceding the competition.
The decisions of the judging panel are final, unappealable, and definitive.
The activities of the Jury are carried out via videoconference.
The jury members participate in the event as expert volunteers, contributing their presence and expertise free of charge.
Article 7
The organization reserves the right to modify or supplement this regulation or cancel the event due to force majeure.
If such a situation occurs, the organization will fully refund the fees paid.
Article 8
First Absolute Prize winners are those who achieve a score of 100/100.
First Prize winners are those who achieve a score between 95 and 99.
Second Prize winners are those who achieve a score between 90 and 94.
Third Prize winners are those who achieve a score between 85 and 89.
Fourth Prize winners are those who achieve a score between 80 and 84.
Certificates will be available for download on the official Competition website within 15 days following the publication of the results.

For all participants awarded 100/100 and the title of First Absolute Prize in any section and category:
FREE ADMISSION
to the AMIGDALA International Music Competition – Memorial "G. Raciti" LIVE Edition 2027
Candidates who achieve a score of 100/100 in the ONLINE Edition will be entitled to participate in the LIVE Edition of the Amigdala Competition without paying the relevant registration fee.
To benefit from this Award, candidates must submit the official application form within the deadline established by the Regulations of the LIVE Edition.
