AMIGDALA IN CONCERT

Under the Patronage of the Municipality of Aci Bonaccorsi

Within the Framework of the

AMIGDALA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

Where Talent Meets the World

Music does not stop at the competition; it continues to live through concerts, encounters with audiences, and the artistic journeys of young talents.

It is from this vision that the concert series of the Amigdala International Music Festival was born, complementing the competition activities with a season of events dedicated to promoting musical excellence. A journey that brings together promising young musicians and internationally acclaimed artists, offering audiences valuable opportunities for listening, exchange, and cultural enrichment.

AMIGDALA IN CONCERT

represents the natural expression of this project: a space dedicated to live music, designed to showcase talented performers, encourage dialogue between different generations of artists, and create new opportunities for young musicians who, over the years, have distinguished themselves in the Amigdala International Music Competition.

In this way, the competition becomes not only a moment of evaluation and recognition, but also the beginning of an artistic journey that continues over time through new experiences, collaborations, and opportunities for both professional and personal growth.

MUSIC BENEATH THE CONSTITUTION

The concert series "Music Beneath the Constitution" brings classical and opera music directly to the community, beyond the traditional venues usually associated with high culture, transforming the town square into a place of encounter, sharing, and beauty.

For this reason, all concerts are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and FREE OF CHARGE, allowing everyone to experience the beauty and emotion of music without barriers.

The choice of the Open-Air Theatre of Palazzo Recupero Cutore, located beside the Constitution Wall that extends along the exterior façade of the Palace, gives the initiative a strong symbolic significance. In this setting, music becomes an opportunity for dialogue between art, civic memory, and democratic values, evoking the principles of freedom, equality, solidarity, and human dignity enshrined in the Italian Constitution.

Within this context, opera — recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — becomes a powerful instrument for encounter, social cohesion, and dialogue among cultures and generations, bringing music closer to citizens and transforming the square into a true stage for cultural sharing.

"Notes Under the Constitution", organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Aci Bonaccorsi, is part of the Municipality's broader summer cultural programme.

STARS FROM JAPAN – This concert features a group of young sopranos from Japan, all graduates of prestigious music universities in their home country, with the exception of Kasumi Hiyane, who graduated from the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory in Catania, and Reina Asakawa, who graduated from the "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome.

In Italy, Kasumi Hiyane has already participated in several opera productions, including La Traviata, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Le Nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Gianni Schicchi, and Cavalleria Rusticana.

Currently, these young artists are in Italy to deepen their study of the Italian language – the mother tongue of opera – and to continue their artistic development under the guidance of tenor Maestro Giuseppe Costanzo and soprano Maestro Orie Tanaka at the Opera Academy of Catania.

Their presence once again demonstrates the universal value of opera and the enduring power of the Italian musical tradition, capable of attracting young talents from all over the world.
